Seamless is an installation in a white room, 4 metres wide, 4 metres high and 8 metres long. The corners of the room have been rounded off, creating the illusion of infinity as if one could almost touch the receding walls but they constantly escape the fingertips. The light source is an arrangement of daylight fluorescent tubes attached to the ceiling. In the centre of the room a short video is playing on a monitor. It tells the story, in the first person, about the moment and the circumstances under which, as a small boy, the narrator first saw a naked man. Spliced into the narrative is a French children’s song, “A la claire fontaine”, which is sung by a young woman of whom we only see her singing mouth. At the story’s climax we are still left uncertain as to the identity of the naked man we see in the video. Does he represent the one who affected the young boy, or is he perhaps the narrator himself?
