The same river twice is an installation of three large drawings, framed by mirrors to the left and right, each in its individual space making these paintings into infinite repetitive landscapes. Each space has an intimacy and a sense of immensity charging the experience of these pictures with an ambivalence that oscillates between the thrill of liberation and an imminent oppressiveness. When the viewer steps outside of the intimacy of the space she/he can see the drawings running into each other.
